The first time I heard this I must admit I was offended and thought you don’t know me, I haven’t a racist bone in my body, and I am certainly not privileged. Yes, this was my gut reaction and for some reason I could not let it go. Then I saw a post on Social Media from an Indigenous woman. This woman was leaving the hospital and walking on the sidewalk towards her car. She saw two men around the age of 20 walking on the same sidewalk towards her. Due to her upbringing and experiences she decided to move off the sidewalk and allow the men to proceed uninterrupted on the sidewalk. As the men passed, they began to berate her…
